Description
Product Overview
The RM-P2E is a sealed two-electrode battery test cell integrating in situ Raman measurement with electrochemical cycling under controlled pressure or vacuum conditions. Its sapphire optical window and short sample-to-window distance facilitate Raman signal collection, while the titanium cell body, PEEK insulation, and O-ring sealing provide chemical resistance and reliable airtightness. Designed for battery materials research, it supports real-time monitoring of structural and interfacial changes during charge/discharge testing at pressures up to 1 MPa. Vacuum operation is supported by replacing the pressure gauge with a compatible vacuum gauge.
Key Features
- In Situ Raman Monitoring: Enables real-time Raman characterization of electrode materials during battery charge/discharge operation.
- Pressure/Vacuum Operation: Supports electrochemical cycling under controlled pressure or vacuum conditions with interchangeable gauges.
- Glovebox-Compatible Sealing: Provides reliable airtight sealing for glovebox assembly and subsequent operation under ambient conditions.

Related Published Application
In Situ Raman Tracking of Stepwise Polyiodide Conversion: The cell used in this study, supplied by Beyond Battery under product code RM-2E, was coupled with a Renishaw inVia Raman microscope using 532 nm excitation and a CHI660E workstation to investigate KB–I₂ cathodes in aqueous Zn–I₂ batteries. During galvanostatic cycling, in situ Raman spectra tracked I₃⁻ and I₅⁻ intermediates, revealing that ectoine promoted a stepwise I₅⁻ → I₃⁻ → I⁻ conversion pathway while suppressing polyiodide shuttling.

Capabilities Relevant to the RM-P2E
- Simultaneous Raman acquisition and galvanostatic cycling.
- Real-time differentiation of I₃⁻ and I₅⁻ intermediates.
- Electrolyte-dependent tracking of iodine conversion pathways.
Note: RM‑2E is the Beyond Battery product code for the same cell reported in the cited publications. The original articles use a different product designation. This study used the base model (RM-2E) of the RM-P2E; the RM-P2E adds pressure monitoring and optional vacuum operation, but neither controlled-pressure nor vacuum Raman measurements were performed in this study.
