Description
Product Overview
The EC-GDE2 is a cost-effective gas diffusion electrochemical flow cell designed for rapid feasibility validation and electrocatalyst screening. Its three-chamber, three-electrode architecture supports direct reactant-gas delivery to a sheet-type gas diffusion electrode and controlled electrolyte circulation, providing a flexible laboratory platform for gas-fed electrochemical research.
Key Features
- Cost-Effective Flow-Cell Platform: Supports rapid feasibility validation and routine gas-diffusion electrode screening.
- Controlled Three-Chamber Operation: Separates gas, catholyte, and anolyte pathways for controlled three-electrode testing.
- Flexible Cell-Body Options: PMMA, PTFE and PEEK configurations support selection for different experimental requirements.

Published Application Example
High-Rate CO₂ Electroreduction to Multicarbon Products: A three-chamber flow cell was used to evaluate Cu(100)-rich gas-diffusion electrodes for CO₂ electroreduction to ethylene and C₂+ products. Direct CO₂ delivery to the catalyst layer, continuous 2 M KOH circulation and three-electrode control enabled investigation of catalyst-facet effects, current-density response, product selectivity and short-term stability. The study demonstrates the role of this cell architecture in rapid laboratory-scale CO₂RR validation.
