Description

Product Overview

The EC-UV1 is a compact single-chamber, three-electrode spectroelectrochemical cell designed for in situ UV–Vis measurements under electrochemical control. Its transparent ITO working electrode and sapphire optical window provide optical access for monitoring potential-dependent absorption changes. Compatible with the Shimadzu UV-2600 spectrophotometer, the cell supports investigation of redox processes, catalyst states, and electroactive interfaces.

Key Features

  • Single-Chamber Design: Compact single-chamber configuration simplifies cell setup for conventional in situ UV–Vis spectroelectrochemical measurements.
  • Potential-Controlled Optical Monitoring: Combines three-electrode electrochemical control with optical monitoring of potential-dependent absorption changes using transparent conductive electrodes.
  • Shimadzu UV-2600 Compatibility: Designed for integration with the Shimadzu UV-2600 spectrophotometer for in situ UV–Vis measurements.

Related Published Application

Potential-Dependent In Situ UV–Vis Monitoring of Ir-Based OER Catalysts: Shen et al. investigated the oxidation-state evolution of CeO₂–IrO₂ and IrO₂ catalysts during oxygen evolution using a custom transmission-type in situ UV–Vis electrochemical cell compatible with a Shimadzu UV-2600 spectrophotometer. Catalyst-coated FTO electrodes provided optical access for potential-dependent and time-resolved measurements. The resulting spectra revealed sequential Ir redox transitions and correlated absorbance changes with electrochemical charge accumulation.
